Welcome to the Royal Danish Consulate in Halifax. Our jurisdiction covers the province of Nova Scotia and we are here to assist you in promoting trade between Canada and Denmark as well as providing tourist and passport/visa information.
Nova Scotia is the center of Canada’s booming offshore oil and gas activities. The consulate is located at I. H. Mathers (established in 1872) in downtown Halifax.

On the 27th day of November 1895, His Majesty King Christian IX of Denmark, through Queen Victoria, sovereign of the Dominion of Canada, approved Isaac H. Mathers to be his Consul in Halifax.
Harry I. Mathers is now the fourth generation family member to serve as the Honorary Danish Consul and it is of note that his daughter Melissa J. Mathers now assists.
