NOW HIRING: Position as Consular Officer and Archivist

The Embassy of Denmark is looking for candidates for the position as Consular Officer and Archivist to begin work on August 1st, 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter. DEADLINE JUNE 23rd 2014


The successful candidate will be part of the Embassy’s consular team and will be involved in the duties and responsibilities within this department:

  • Assist with all consular matters including, but not limited to, receiving and processing Danish passport applications, retention for Danish citizen applications, driver´s licenses, translations, etc. and helping Danish citizens in need of assistance.
  • Registration and processing of visa applications on behalf of Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
  • Registration and examination of residence permit applications on behalf of Denmark and Norway.
  • Answering phone calls and written correspondence from our outsourcing partner, our honorary consuls as well as applicants, inviting companies and hosts in the above represented countries.
  • Contact to the Danish MFA and Immigration Services in Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
  • Archive – Receive, distribute, file written correspondence, provide support to users and perform weekly quality assurance.


  • Documented fluency in Danish or a Scandinavian language as well as English, both oral and written. Knowledge of French is an asset.
  • Bachelor degree or its equivalence coupled with work experience.
  • Computer skills: Windows 7 and the Office package. Web editing experience is an asset.


  • Service minded.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy with the ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results within tight deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude and a hands-on approach.
  • Discretion and courtesy when dealing with sensitive issues/confidential information.
