Danish Parliamentary committee to visit British Columbia

The Rural Districts and Islands Committee from the Danish Parliament is visiting BC to explore strategies being used for economic development in rural areas. The focus will be on decentralized education systems and the response to economic challenges in rural districts.

Members of the Danish Parliamentary Committee will visit Vancouver, Victoria, Prince George and Quesnel from March 4 to 9, 2017.

The committee will meet with Ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly, including the Speaker and the Standing Committee on Budget and Finance, the University of Northern BC, the College of New Caledonia, federal agencies including Western Economic Diversification Canada and Social Development Canada as well as local representatives including mayors, business councils, local development agencies and first nations’ representatives.
