Did you know that we use roughly 500 billion disposable plastic bags every year?
That over 80% of marine litter comes from land based sources?
That 8 million tons of plastics end up in the oceans every year?
And that there may be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050?

We know.

That's why the Nordic Embassies in Ottawa joined forces with Environment Minister Catherine McKenna, Ottawa Riverkeeper, Mill Street Brew Pub and the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa for World Environment Day 2018. This year's theme was #BeatPlasticPollution, so we gathered at Westboro Beach to clean up and to bring light to the issue of plastic pollution.

Look what we found and find out what you can do to help by watching our video below. Remember to visit our website as well, to read more about the efforts to beat plastic pollution!
