Nordic Days at the Musem of Nature

The Nordic Countries explore the Arctic

The Royal Danish Embassy and the other Nordic embassies in Canada are pleased to present the Nordic Days at the Museum of Nature. Come and explore the Nordic Arctic through films, displays, photos and crafts from October 19 to 21 at the Museum of Nature in Ottawa.

The Nordic Days will involve our very own Nordic Arctic Film Festival, where adult-oriented films will be shown on October 19 and children-oriented films on October 21. The Danish contribution to the Film festival is the short movie ‘Seven Boats’. Made on a mix of fiction and an old handed down Icelandic story  ‘Seven Boats’ revolves around a man lost at sea and even though he is surrounded by seven other boats he is not rescued. The movie is instructed by Icelandic Hlynur Pálmason, who is educated at the Danish Film School.

Furthermore crafts, photo exhibitions and a photo booth focusing on the Nordic Arctic will be available at the museum. And don’t forget to participate in our special Climate Change Drawing Competition – how would you portray what many call the biggest issue in human history? The Swedish scientist Keith Larson will also be at the museum, where he will talk about the biologic activities in the Nordic Arctic.
