Danish filmmaker Tinne Zenner and The Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) have entered a partnership where Zenner will be in Toronto from April 10 to May 21, 2017 as a visiting artist. She will be working on completing a film she shot in Greenland this winter, which will focus on a symbiosis of landscape and architecture and portray the culture and language in a post-colonial modernity. Zenner will use LIFT’s optical printers, film transfer suite and dark room to compose the film.

Thursday, May 18, Zenner will deliver an artist talk where she will screen some of her previous films and talk about the progress of the film on Greenland. The event is free. Read more about this and Zenner’s visit to Toronto here.

Through her work with analogue film and 3D animation, Zenner explores how history, politics and collective memory are embedded in physical structures. Her work has been screened at numerous international film festivals including Ann Arbor Film Festival, CPH:DOX and New York Film Festival.
