The Arctic Research Centre is directed by Professor Søren Rysgaard and Professor Jesper Madsen. Professor Rysgaard has previously visited Manitoba, and the ARC has formed a strong partnership with the Centre for Earth Observation Sciences at University of Manitoba, Canada and the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources, jointly constituting the Arctic Science Partnership (ASP). The goal is to create synergy between natural and health sciences in the Arctic in order to deliver cutting-edge results with respect to both climate, environmental and health research in the area, as well as aiding decision-makers in identifying viable solutions. Furthermore, ARC and its Canadian and Greenlandic partners aim to launch an educational programme in natural science, based in Nuuk and at Aarhus University.
