CETA seminar in Copenhagen - what's in it for companies?

A new trade agreement between Canada and the EU will significantly improve market access for companies and create new opportunities.
The agreement is set to provisionally enter into force at the beginning of May, and is currently being ratified by all EU member states. In Denmark, this is expected to happen during the month of May.

The agreement will eliminate 99% of all duties on goods traded between the EU and Canada. European companies will also gain better access to the Canadian public procurement market, have optimized conditions for selling services in Canada and receive better protection of intellectual property rights – something with high relevance for industries such as the pharmaceutical industry. The agreement  also includes a new and improved investment protection system.

The seminar will be an opportunity to hear more about what the agreement contains and how it will impact companies wanting to grow trade between Denmark and Canada. Denmark’s Ambassador to Canada Niels Boel Abrahamsen and Canada’s ambassador to Denmark Emi Furuya will give a joint speech on how CETA will benefit companies.
