CETA - what's in it for companies?

16.03.2017  15:11
A new trade agreement between Canada and the EU will significantly improve market access for companies and create new opportunities.

The agreement is set to provisionally enter into force in the beginning of May, and is currently being ratified by all EU member states. In Denmark, this is expected to happen during the month of May.

The agreement will eliminate 99 pct. of all duties on goods traded between the EU and Canada. Additionally, European companies will gain better access to the Canadian public procurement market, optimized conditions for selling services in Canada and receive better protection of intellectual property rights – something with high relevance for industries such as the pharmaceutical industry. Furthermore, the agreement includes a new and improved investment protection system.

The seminar will be an opportunity to hear more about, what CETA specifically contains, and what the agreement will mean for companies and their opportunities to grow trade between Denmark and Canada.
