24.09.2013  21:56

The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commissioned BLS International to operate the Danish permit and visa application centres in Canada.

Applicants applying for a Danish permit or a short-term business, tourist or transit Schengen visa for Denmark (including the Faroe Islands and Greenland), Iceland, Norway or Sweden must now submit an application at a BLS Visa Application Centre from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. It is recommended that you   book an appointment , however walk-ins are also accepted.

For more information, including the location of the application centres, please visit BLS’s website:

Applicants can check the status of their applications by logging on to

BLS Helpline for assistance with the application process, 1-647-930-2092 or 1-647-930-2031 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Please note that personal appearance is mandatory as biometric features (digital photo, fingerprints and signature) are now mandatory requirements for both permit and visa applications. Applications mailed directly to the Embassy will be returned to the applicant (Norwegian permits are excluded from biometric requirements).

Only in exceptional circumstances such as a death or serious illness of a relative can the visa application submission to BLS be bypassed and the application be submitted in person directly to the Embassy in Ottawa. A supporting letter from a funeral director or hospital is required in these circumstances. Please contact the Embassy for more information.
