Award-winning Danish photographers at World Press Photo in Ottawa

This August Canadians can get a first-hand view of the award-winning images from Danish photographers. All of which are on display during the World Press Photo Exhibit hosted by the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa, ON.

The international tour for the renowned World Press Photo Exhibit has arrived in Ottawa. Over 150 photographs are on display, among which are award-winning images from several Danish photographers. Danish photographers have long been in the top tier of their profession and World Press Photo 2013 was no exception, with several categories being contested by Danes.   

One of these is famous Danish photographer Jan Grarup, who won the 1st prize in the “Sports Feature 2013” category, for his thought-provoking images of the Women’s National Basketball Team in Somalia.    


The images of Danish photographers Jacob Ehrbahn and Søren Bidstrup are also on display. Both came in 2nd and 3rd in the “Daily Life 2013, singles” category with their extraordinary photos of ordinary lives.


Lastly the young Dane Marie Hald came in 2nd in the “Observed Portraits 2013” category with her unique series of images called “Bonnie”.
