Denmark and Canada - winners at the 2012 Cannes International Film Festival

Sunday night May 27th Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen received the prestigious Prix d'interprétation masculine at the Cannes Film Festival for his performance in the Danish movie The Hunt directed by Thomas Vinterberg.

The Hunt, a powerful film about a 40-year-old family man who is suddenly accused of a crime he did not commit, has been well received by critics and buyers alike and will soon premiere worldwide.

Canada also triumphed in Cannes. Canadian actress Suzanne Clement won the Prix d'interprétation feminine for the movie Laurence Anyways directed by Xavier Dolan.

Denmark received further accolades Sunday night when the Danish political drama series Borgen received the BAFTA award for best international TV series in London.
