When You Have Received a Decision

If your visa was granted:

The final decision regarding allowing you entry to the Schengen area lies solely with the immigration authorities upon arrival. Having been granted a visa is not a guarantee that you will be allowed entry, as immigration officers will verify a number of items:

  • Verify the identity of the traveller.
  • Verify that the purpose of your visit has not changed since applying for the visa.
  • Check the required documents for entry as per the "Information Sheet to Visa Holders", which was provided to you when you received your passport back from the Embassy.
  • Ensure that you have access to sufficiend funds as per the Visa Code Handbook annex 18.

The above is a non-exhaustive list.

Please ensure that you verify the information on the visa sticker. A guide is available here.

If your visa was refused:

A decision outlining the reason for the refusal will be sent to you. The decision to refuse can be made either directly at The Royal Danish Embassy or via submission of your case to the Danish Immigration Service. These decisions can be appealed. More information regarding this procedure is outlined here.
