While your physical application and passport will be stored at the Danish Embassy in Ottawa, the case processing is done digitally by the Danish Consulate General in New York City.
The Embassy in Ottawa cannot assist you with processing times, document requirements, application process or other aspects of the visa process.

Please be advised that Schengen visa applications from Canada are not processed by the Royal Danish Embassy in Ottawa. While your physical file and passport are stored at the Royal Danish Embassy in Ottawa, your digital file will be processed at the Danish Consulate General in New York City.
As a result of this, the Royal Danish Embassy in Ottawa cannot assist you with the Schengen visa application process, including guidance, decisions, processing time and accepting applications.

Visa processing for russian citizens
Changes to Visa Processing for Citizens of Russia
Denmark has partially suspended the visa facilitation agreement with Russia.
The suspension will impact the following applicant groups:
- Business travellers
- Bearers of diplomatic passports (Will not be visa exempt)
- Official delegations
- Members of the Russian Federation's national and regional governments and parliaments
- Members of the Russian Federation Constitutional Court and the Russian Federation's Supreme Court
The changes for the above groups include:
- A requirement to hand in the full list of mandatory documents according to the Schengen visa code.
- A requirement to pay the full Schengen visa fee of €80.
- Payment of the fee must be done by €35 via the online application portal and €45 paid in Euro in cash at the visa application centre.
- Only cash payment of Euro will be accepted at the application centre, it will not be possible to pay in any other currency or through any other method of payment (credit card, debit card, etc.)
- It will not be possible to issue a multiple entry visa.
- Visa applications are processed according to the standard 15 days outlined in the Schengen Visa code.
