Internships at the Embassy

The Danish Embassy in Ottawa offers two internships twice a year to two Danish students enrolled at a Danish or foreign university or a foreign student enrolled at a Danish University with a bachelor degree. It is expected that the interns have good analytical skills and extensive knowledge of English.

Deadline for intern applications for the Fall semester (August 1 – January 31): March 1st.
Deadline for intern applications for the Spring semester (February 1 – July 31): September 1st.
 
Useful information: The interns at the Danish Embassy receive no salary during the stay. The students are responsible for all expenses in relation to the stay, such as travel costs, insurance and living expenses. It is assumed that the students are able to use his/her education grants (SU) or finance the stay in other ways.
 
The Internships at the embassy are divided into two six-month periods from February 1 to July 31, and from August 1 to January 31. Applicants are advised to apply for the internships 6-9 months before the internships begin. Advertisements for the positions are circulated to Danish universities and published on the Danish Foreign Ministry website.
 
Applications should be sent by e-mail to the embassy with enclosed CV, exam results and recommendation letters in a single PDF-document.  Applications in Danish are preferred.
