The Embassy does not accept debit or credit cards. Only cash, certified cheques and money orders are acceptable payment methods.

Fees are subject to change twice annually on Jan 1 and July 1. The date the application is received at the Embassy (not the consulate) determines the fee.

** There is a reduced fee of $49 CAD  for:

• Children age six to 11 (inclusive)
• Nationals of the following countries:
  Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine (citizens of Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia do not need a visa if they hold biometric passports. This does not apply to holders of Serbian passports issued by the Serbian Directorate of Coordination, who will still need a visa).

*** There is no application fee for:

• Holders of travel identification papers issues by countries whose own nationals are visa exempt (travel documents for refugees and alien's passports)
• Holders of Diplomatic and Service passports
• People travelling for (spouses and children included): The United Nations and sub organizations, OSCE, EU Council Members, the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) in Copenhagen, the International Council for Exploration of the Sea (ICES) in Copenhagen, the European Radio Communications Office (ERO) in Copenhagen, Eurofish in Copenhagen and the European Environment Agency (EEA) in Copenhagen.
• Spouses and registered partners of citizens from an EU/EEA country other than Denmark and their children or the spouse/partner's children who have not yet turned 21 or are dependants of the EU/EEA citizen, as well as immediate relatives and the spouse/partner's immediate relatives who are dependants of the EU/EEA citizen. Such family members of Danish citizens, who are using their right for free movement in another EU country are included in this fee exemption. EU/EEA rules also apply to Switzerland. 
• Employees of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as their spouses and dependant children under the age of 21.
• Students, athletes etc. travelling in connection with an exchange, amateur sports or cultural event.
• Children under six years of age.
• Students, accompanying teachers, and university graduates doing further studies, who take up residence due to studies or training. 
• Researchers from third countries, travelling within the EU for the purpose of carrying out scientific research (visa applications for attending a conference or presenting a poster are not fee exempt).
• Youth 24 and under, participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by a non-profit organization.
• In individual cases at the Embassy's discretion, people travelling to promote culture, sports, foreign policy, development assistance, or other areas of vital public interest, or for humanitarian reasons.

* Japanese nationals are not required to pay a fee for residence permits for Denmark.
**This fee applies if you submitted your original permit application directly to Denmark, Norway or Iceland. If you submitted your original permit application to the Embassy you do not need to pay an additional fee for your entry permit (D-visa).

There is no application fee for:

• Applicants issued a residence permit under Aliens' Act Paragraph 8.
• Diplomats and other's, including spouses and children under 21, who are working at their country's Embassy, Consulate General or an international organization in Copenhagen.
• Spouses and registered partners of citizens from an EU/EEA country other than Denmark and their children or the spouse/partner's children who have not yet turned 21 or are dependants of the EU/EEA citizen, as well as immediate relatives and the spouse/partner's immediate relatives who are dependants of the EU/EEA citizen. * Outside office hours there is a fee of $719 CAD (DKK 3850) for the first passport, emergency passport or passport extension, and then the regular fee is charged for the second, third, etc. On closing days there is a fee of $957 CAD (DKK 5130) for the first passport, emergency passport or passport extension, and then the regular fee is charged for the second, third, etc.
** Passport extensions and emergency passports are free if an application for a new passport is handed in at the same time within the Embassy's regular office hours.
***There is no fee for the first-time issuance of a laissez-passer.
