The Trade Council (TC Canada) is part of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. TC North America’s mandate is to assist Danish companies in expanding or initiating business activities in the North American market. 

The Trade Council (TC Canada) is part of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. TC North America’s mandate is to assist Danish companies in expanding or initiating business activities in the North American market. We partner with companies from the Kingdom of Denmark in a variety of activities ranging from e.g. developing market analysis and entry strategies to partner and customer searches. PR activities, recruiting, creating events, and delegation, as well as first-line sales efforts, are also among our many different tasks.

1. Investment Attraction & Health & Life Sciences Advisory. Application No.: IDK-3 

 

The Position

We are looking for a highly motivated and curious intern to play key roles in the following teams in Toronto: 1) Health and Life Sciences: supporting export of Danish health and life sciences solutions to Canada through economic diplomacy and direct company advisory; 2) Invest in Denmark: assisting investment attraction to Denmark within Quantum Technologies as well as Life Sciences, Tech and Cleantech, through opportunity scoping, strategic partnerships, and bespoke company services.

You will be an integrated part of both team’s daily work, including participating in internal meetings with colleagues across North America as well as mission leadership, participating in external meetings with current and prospective clients, partners, and stakeholders, creating important documents to drive our work in the short and long term, and executing on aspects of key deliverables. You will gain unique experience in advising North American companies looking to expand to Europe, as well as business development for Danish health and life sciences companies who are interested in expanding their business activities across North America. As a result, you will achieve a good understanding of the North American market (Canada and the US) with both commercial and public affairs assignments.

Your internship will consist of, but is not limited to:

  • Main responsibility: Invest in Denmark and the Health and Life Sciences

    • Market analysis and research to support market assessments

    • Preparation and execution of client meetings (virtual and/or in-person)

    • Preparation of market background and value propositions for clients

    • Development, coordination, and execution of Danish trade delegations

    • Creating and executing ongoing networking events

  • Communication: Developing and managing general and sector-specific internal and external communications (e.g. Facebook & LinkedIn posts)

  • Ad hoc assistance: Support office activities, incoming/outgoing visits, and practical tasks


The Candidate

  • Must currently be enrolled in a Danish educational program at a minimum level of Bachelor Degree (i.e., Business Administration, International Business or Law)

  • Interest in Danish life sciences and tech solutions from a commercial angle is an asset

  • Knowledge of, and interest in, international trade and investment landscape is an asset

  • A good team player who’s comfortable driving independent projects, navigating ambiguity, and taking on responsibility

  • Strong work ethic, analytical skills, and commercial mindset

  • Strong experience in Word, Excel & PowerPoint

2. Arctic & Market Entry Advisory. Application No.: TC-8 

The Position
We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified intern to assist our consultancy teams within Arctic Advisory and Market Entry in Toronto. You will be an integrated part of the team’s daily work, and will be an important contributor on relevant projects. We aim to provide experience in both project management, as well as, exposure to business development for Danish companies who are interested in expanding their business activities across North America. You will achieve a good understanding of the North American market (Canada and US) with both commercial and public affairs assignments. 

Your internship will consist of, but is not limited to:
Main responsibility: Support the Advisory Team by carrying out the following activities: 
- Market analysis and research to support market assessments
- Preparation and execution of client meetings (virtual and/or in-person)
- Preparation of market background and value propositions for clients
- Development, coordination, and execution of Danish trade delegations
- Creating and executing ongoing networking events
- Communication: Developing and managing general and sector-specific internal and external communications (e.g. Facebook & LinkedIn posts)
- Ad hoc assistance: Assistance with ongoing activities, incoming/outgoing visits, and practical tasks

3. District Energy & Buildings Advisory. Application No.: TC-9

 

The Position: 
We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified intern to assist our respective advisory teams in Toronto within District Energy and Sustainable Buildings. You will be an integrated part of the individual team’s daily work, and will be an important contributor on relevant projects across Canada and the US. We aim to provide experience in both project management, as well as, exposure to business development for Danish companies who are interested in expanding their business activities across North America. You will achieve a good understanding of the North American market (Canada and the US) with both commercial and public affairs assignments.


Your internship will consist of, but is not limited to:
Main responsibility:

The Candidate

- Interest in exporting Danish solutions, especially within buildings, district energy or energy efficiency, considered an asset.
- A good team player who’s comfortable driving independent projects and taking on responsibility.
- Strong work ethic, analytical skills and commercial mindset.
- Strong experience in Word, Excel & PowerPoint. Experience in Canva and Monday.com, considered an asset.
