Market Entry Advisory

The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is considered to be the next Silicon Valley. At the Danish Trade Council, we help Danish companies navigate and seize the amazing potential we see in Canada.

Toronto is located within a few hours travel of 135 million people

Toronto represents more than 20% of Canada’s economy and the region’s proximity to major North American cities makes it a great place to do business in. This, combined with the diverse culture and openness in Canada make it easy for Danish companies to make a difference.

The largest tech hub in Canada

Toronto is the largest technology hub in Canada and the third largest in North America – only succeeded by San Francisco and New York. The large number of start-ups, established businesses and the combination of a tech ecosystem in the Kitchener/Waterloo area creates a perfect place for Danish companies to do business. Contact us if you want to know more about the big potential in Canada.

It is easy to do business in Canada

With the newly-signed Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) between the European Union and Canada, doing business in Canada has never been easier for ICT companies in Denmark. Many different taxes and tariffs have been removed together with former bureaucratic barriers. You can read more about the CETA here or contact the Danish Trade Council for more information on how you can enter the expanding Canadian market.

Many sectors to choose from

The ICT sector is often split into the following areas with even more to choose from:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine learning
